Whatever meaning given to agog: energy, the unexpected and humor come first for this group. In the autumn of 1993 they won the first price at the 'Europ' jazz contest'. Frank Wingold got rewarded as 'best soloist' and Joost Lijbaart as 'best drummer'. They also received the 'Sabam price' for the most original interpretation of the compulsory piece.

The three versatile musicians are joining in a wide variety of styles without making it uncontrolled or parody-like. The repertoire varies from dreamy ballads, African traditionals, to jazz, rock and contemporary music. All integrated into their own organic sound. agog is not a typical guitar trio but a mini orchestra, which uses the group sound and the unique chemistry between the musicians to it's full potential.

In 1995 agog released it's first cd 'Eat Time' on the German label 'Jazzhaus'. In November 2001 their second cd 'Shortcuts to Detours' arrived which was released on the dutch `Try-Tone` label.
In 2004 the third CD "Meltdown came outfor jazz in motion records. This CD was recorded together with the zapp string quartet.

Winner of the Dutch Jazz Contest at the North Sea Jazz Festival 2002
Joost Lijbaart was award in this contest for best soloist. One of the jury members was Elvin Jones.
