In 2005 one of Holland’s finest saxophonists, Yuri Honing, is invited for a recording session with the famous Dutch Metropole Orchestra, led by the great conductor and composer Vince Mendoza. The recording is meant for a one-time broadcast on Dutch radio only. But the result turns out to be so beautiful, all parties decide immediately that the music should be released on CD for everyone to enjoy.
The CD Symphonic contains seven wonderful compositions, all wonderfully arranged by Vince Mendoza, ànd two alternate takes on mpeg files with DVD material of the recording (mpeg files to be played on computer).

The Metropole Orchestra is considered one the leading jazz & pop orchestra’s in the world. This Dutch radio orchestra had its first broadcast in 1945 and since then it has acquired a status of one of the most esteemed bands like no other orchestra in the world, commanding the entire idiom of light music, from jazz and pop to musical, from film music to cabaret. And now again his work with the Metropole Orchestra demonstrates an extraordinary understanding of many musical languages.
